Spring is around the corner! The Boise Brule in Northern Wisconsin is open and there are fish in the river. Watch the water levels and use a wading staff. Let's be safe out there.
I personally don't do much spring on the Brule River anymore, but I do miss the fight of a big fat steel chromer fresh from Lake Superior, awesome fight!
The Early catch and release season is happening right now in Wisconsin. The best stream closest to where I live in Duluth, MN would be the Namekagon River near Hayward. There is enough trout to please any trout fly fisherman. Artificial lures only and must be barbless.
Otherwise I'm still tying bass, pike and musky flies for this upcoming season. It seems like it never ends, but it's a good way to pass the time until the REAL fishing begins. Bring on the warmwater fishing!
I got my new Nautilus CCF 10 reel. This thing is a work of art! Built with quality and made right in the USA. Check out the Nautilus Reels website at www.nautilusreels.com. I really like Nautilus, great folks to work with and super products! Keep up the good work!
